UNIFORMS There were three basic uniforms that I wore; all the way to the left is the one called kaki, and then in the middle you have la anilla, and on the far right you have the educacion fisica (PE) uniform. Those are the three basic uniforms I wore. The kaki uniform I wore every day except for Mondays. And la anilla uniform I wore only on Mondays. The educacion fisica uniform I took to school in my backpack on days that I had PE or I had sports after school. It was prohibited that you play any sport with la anilla uniform or the kaki uniform, so you were supposed to change to the educacion fisica uniform. If you got caught disobeying this rule, older cadets made you do pushups or another kind of punishment. The older cadets were totally in charge of you and if they caught you doing anything wrong like wearing |
half of one uniform and half of another, or if you even just had the wrong socks on, they could punish you. They could even make you run laps. And if the Captain, Major, or Colonel caught you, you were in BIG trouble. If you got caught on the bus without a hat or a kristina (the thing you wear on you head with the kaki and la anilla uniforms), then you would usually be made, by one of the cadets, to stand up all the way to your house. All these rules kept you on your toes all the time. Uniform rules were very important to the school. The inspectors would lower your grade if you had any sort of uniform wrong. And if you didn't come to school with the kaki uniform on then you couldn't get in sometimes. Inspectors played a pretty big part in the uniform deal because if you came to school in the educacion fisica uniform more than one time your grade would drop quite a bit. |
